crazy hard. crazy emotional. crazy challenging. crazy good.
it started off simple enough- sunday was nice, there was church, there was sunday evening restfulness. and monday was normalish too- though there were difficulties in the afternoontime. the evening was mended with porkchops and mashed potatoes and gravy. yumyum. what can't be mended by that? well, i suppose some things, but icecream certainly fixes all and that happened after the porkchops.
then, guys, tuesday came. and B's husband D texted to say she was in labor! and that little babes was on her way! and oh i was EXCITED! so even though it was 5am, i got up and made coffee and got dressed and made my hair pretty and put on make up and tried to find other things to do to pass the time. but that only got me until 7:30am. so then i was like - I HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL! so i drove out there and sat in the waiting room. and sat and sat. and sat. tried to knit but my hands kept sweating. paced and went to the restroom. watched the tv in the waiting room...
and then! at 5:44pm, Eleanor "Norah" Joy was born!

yesterday, C and i enjoyed seeing her together and paying B&D a visit with some chickfila and yagoot. it was so nice. the rest of the day was spent doing fun topsecret stuff for B&D and then there was our small group.

tonight C and i are going out for datenight! it will be fun to get dressed up and go out to eat together. i promise i will take a 'belly photo' for everyone then. it's so much bigger than it was at 20 weeks. watch out.

that is so sweet! and i'm glad you feel encouraged about hospital birth--i had a great experience too, and my nurses were wonderful!
ReplyDeleteMan, if you were in a waiting room for almost 12 hours, no WONDER you were exhausted. ;) You are an awesome friend!!!
